Say Hello to Vista Dodger

October 31, 2006

Since the focus here over the next few months will be on installing and using flavors of Linux, I thought Vista Dodger better describes what we’ll be doing here.

Sensible? You tell me.

The name could eventually morph into something else, once I’m fully ensconced in the world of the penguin. Perhaps Microsoft will provide more reasons to keep it an on-ging concern in perpetuity. We’ll see.

Memo: need a cool logo.

It’s Not Sexy

October 30, 2006

The capital of Bavaria, Munich, has said that it intends to adopt Linux as the operating System of choice.

“The capital of Bavaria plans to complete its current migration of more than 80 percent of its desktop systems by 2008 and says that the first users of open software in the city’s administration are pleased with the initial results.”

Related to the adoption of Linux by many state and provincial governments, is the adoption of the Open Source Document Standard.

Coming soon to this site, there will be an in-depth tutorial on how you, too can adapt to Linux and the open software world, and be free from Windows for good. I will do the suffering, and you will reap the benefit of my sacrifice!

Naaaaah, it should no be that bad!
